> Color grade a video in your browser with hundreds of original looks, Auto colour, colour match, LUTs, log conversion and curves. Free, no upload, no watermark.

colorgrade.video is a colour grading web app that does all of its work on the visitor’s own device. A video is decoded with WebCodecs, every colour operation in the grade (camera log input, colour match, white balance, wheels, curves, HSL, the chosen look and an optional imported LUT) is folded into a 33-point 3D LUT and applied per pixel with tetrahedral interpolation by a WebGL2 shader, with a CPU fallback, and grain, vignette, halation and bloom are added in a second pass. Around 300 original looks are previewed live on a frame of the clip, and any grade can be exported as a .cube LUT. The finished video is encoded in the browser and saved locally. Nothing is uploaded; there is no API, account or server-side processing.

## What sets the tool apart

- **Looks drawn on your own frame**: Every thumbnail in the gallery is rendered live from your clip, so you choose between roughly 300 original looks by seeing them on your footage, not on a stock photo.
- **A real grading toolkit**: Waveform, parade and vectorscope, colour wheels, curves, eight-band HSL, LUT import, log conversion for a dozen cameras and colour matching to a reference.
- **Stays on your device**: Decoding, grading and encoding all happen in this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account to make, and exports carry no watermark.

## Grading a clip, step by step

1. **Open your clip**: Drop a video onto the page or choose Select video. MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV files from phones, cameras and drones all open.
2. **Pick a look and set its strength**: Tap a quick pick or open All looks to browse the full gallery, then move Intensity until it feels right. Auto colour gives a neutral starting point, Before and after shows the original beside the grade, and Pro tools hold the wheels, curves, HSL and LUT controls.
3. **Export the graded video**: Choose Export video and wait while every frame is graded and encoded on your device. Then pick Download video, or Share on a phone to send it to your gallery.

## Colour grading FAQ

### Can I color grade a video online for free without a watermark?

Yes. Grading and exporting cost nothing, there is no watermark on the result, and you never need to sign up. Because your own device does all the work, there is no server bill to pass on to you.

### Is my video uploaded?

No. The file is opened, graded and encoded inside your browser. Reference images for Match colours and any LUT you import stay on your device too. The only thing that may be downloaded is a converter for unusual formats, and your video is never part of that request.

### Is this AI colour grading?

Not in the generative sense. Auto colour measures a few frames of your clip, estimates the colour of the light from the average and the brightest areas, and works out a white balance and a gentle levels stretch. Match colours compares the statistics of two images. Both are measurement and arithmetic, with no model inventing pixels.

### Can I color grade video on my phone?

Yes. The tool works in current mobile browsers on iPhone and Android. The look gallery opens as a sheet so your preview stays visible, and Share hands the finished file to your photo library. Long 4K clips take a while, because a phone grades every frame itself.

### Does colour grading reduce quality?

Any change to the picture means the video has to be encoded again, so the export is never a bit-for-bit copy. Choose High under Export settings for the closest result. A heavy grade can also reveal banding in smooth skies on 8-bit phone footage, so it pays to push gently.

### What is the difference between colour correction and colour grading?

Correction makes the picture accurate: neutral whites, natural skin and consistent shots. Grading gives it a mood, such as warm nostalgia or cold steel. Correct first, then grade. Auto colour and Pick white handle the first job; the looks handle the second.

### Can I use my own LUT?

Yes. Open Pro tools, go to the LUT tab and choose Import LUT. It accepts .cube files (3D up to 65 points, or 1D) and .3dl. You can set LUT intensity, choose Tetrahedral or Trilinear interpolation, and apply it before or after the rest of the grade.

### Can I download the looks as LUTs?

Yes. Pick any look, or build your own grade, and choose Export .cube to save it as a 33 or 65 point .cube file for DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, CapCut desktop and other editors. Grain, vignette, halation and bloom work on neighbouring pixels, so they cannot be stored in a LUT.

### My footage looks flat and grey. Is that log?

Very likely, if your camera or phone has a log profile switched on. In Pro tools > Basic, set Footage to your camera’s profile and the picture is converted to standard Rec.709 colour before anything else is applied.

### Can I make two clips match?

Open Match colours, choose a reference (a still image or a frame from another video) and your clip takes on its overall colour and contrast. To give several clips the same look, use Copy grade on the first and Paste grade on each of the others.

### Can I grade only part of the picture?

Not with a mask: every control applies to the whole frame. You can still target a colour range in the HSL tab, for example making skies a deeper blue or turning a red jacket orange, because HSL works on hues rather than on objects.

### Can I save my grade and use it again?

Save as my look keeps it under My looks in this browser. Copy grade remembers it too, even after you open another video, so you can paste the same grade onto clip after clip.

### Which formats can I open and save?

MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV open in modern browsers, including HEVC where your browser supports it; unusual codecs are converted on your device first. Exports are MP4, or WebM where the browser can encode it, at the original size or smaller, with the sound kept unless you turn off Keep sound.

### Why does the export take a while?

Each frame is decoded, graded on your graphics chip and encoded again, all on your own machine. A one-minute 1080p clip is usually quick on a laptop; long 4K files on an older phone take longer. You can trim with I and O before exporting to save time.
